Re: Monster stacks = monster fish? One big thing I’ve noticed that good players do to build a chip stack is adjust there style as the table dynamics change. It sounds obvious but so many players commit to rigid ranges and tactics and fail to adjust when the game tightens up or when a couple of loose fish hit the table.

Hi, I think I master most aspects of the game by now, but those random very strong Level IV monster stacks that sometimes appear out the fog of war just kill me. Usually they consist of some dragon plus other very strong armies or a band of six Level IV monsters. Of course I know I'm supposed to beat them at one point in the game, but for now I'm too weak.

I'm a first-time GM. I see a wealth of monsters that have somewhere between CR 1/8 to CR 1 in the Monster Manual. Skeletons are one of these monsters. While those monsters are threatening to low-level characters, as my players level up these monsters seem to inevitably become less intimidating to the party.
